Opening of the Call for Proposals 2010: Benefit-sharing Fund The text of the Call for Proposals 2010 has been revised on 6 August 2010. The text previously published did not contain all the modifications made by the Bureau of the Governing Body to the text of the Call. The modifications only refer to the expected size of projects under windows 1 and 2. The Call for Proposals 2010 under the Benefit-sharing Fund of the International Treaty, which will invest more than USD 10 million in projects globally, is now opened for its biennial cycle (2010-2011). Any governmental or non-governmental organization, including genebanks and research institutions, farmers and farmers' organizations and regional and international organizations, based in countries that are Contracting Parties eligible for funding, may apply for grants until 8 September 2010, 24:00 Rome time.
Invitation to comply with the Governing Body's requests related to the Multilateral System of Access and Benefit-sharing The Secretary of the International Treaty invites Contracting Parties and other relevant organizations to submit, as appropriate, all the information requested by the Third Session of the Governing Body in relation to the Multilateral System of Access and Benefit-sharing and take the necessary measures to respond to the actions requested.
Invitation to submit views and experiences on the implementation of Farmers’ Rights The Secretary of the International Treaty invites Contracting Parties and other relevant organizations to submit views and experiences on the implementation of Farmers’ Rights, as set out in Article 9 of the International Treaty by 31 July 2010.
NIO GB4 Invitation Partners BSF The Secretary assists the Governing Body to establish and maintain cooperation with other relevant international organizations, including their participation in the Funding Strategy of the Treaty and its Benefit-sharing Fund. At its Third Session, the Governing Body requested the Secretary to continue collaborating with international mechanisms, funds and bodies in further operationalizing the Benefit-sharing Fund of the International Treaty.
NCP GB4 National Focal Points Significant correspondence concerning the implementation of the International Treaty is being addressed to Contracting Parties on a regular basis. In order to facilitate the rapid distribution of such correspondence to the relevant officials, Contracting Parties are invited to nominate a National Focal Point, to whom correspondence should be addressed, or to update the contact details of those already nominated if these have changed.
Letter K/X/AGPD-806 The Governing Body took a number of decisions that require action by Contracting Parties. The purpose of this communication is to bring to the attention of Contracting Parties those decisions that are addressed to them, or that have direct implications for them.

Notification: NCPO GB3 Invitation The Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations has the honour to extend an invitation to attend the Third Session of the Governing Body of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture. The Session will be held in Tunis (Tunisia) from 1 to 5 June 2009 and will be preceded by two days of consultations, on 30 and 31 May 2009.
