Announcement of a Capacity Building Project for Developing Countries on the Implementation of the International Treaty and in particular its Multilateral System of Access and Benefit-sharing, and Call for Expressions of Interest
I have the honour to inform Contracting Parties of the launching of the referenced capacity building project by Bioversity International. The project will support research and capacity strengthening activities in countries concerning the implementation of the International Treaty, with a focus on policy issues associated with the Multilateral system of access and benefit-sharing (MLS).

Capacity building workshop on the International Treaty and the Nagoya Protocol
The purpose of this notification is to inform of the capacity building workshop on the International Treaty and the Nagoya Protocol being jointly organized by the Secretariats of the CBD and the Treaty, in the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation that was signed between the two Secretariats last October.

Third Party Beneficiary Procedures - Nomination of Experts
The purpose of this notification is to bring to your attention decisions that are addressed to Contracting Parties in relation to the compilation of a list of experts in accordance with the Third Party Beneficiary Procedures. In the context of dispute settelment, the parties to a Standard Material Transfer Agreement may appoint mediators and arbitrators from such a list of experts.

Notification: NCPO GB4 Invitation
The Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations has the honour to extend an invitation to attend the Fourth Session of the Governing Body of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture. The Session will be held in Bali (Indonesia) from 14 to 18 March 2011 and will be preceded by two days of consultations, on 12 and 13 March 2011.

Extension of deadline for submitting pre-proposals under the Call for Proposals 2010
The Secretary of the Governing Body of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture is pleased to inform that the deadline for submitting pre-proposals under the Call for Proposals 2010 of the Benefit-Sharing Fund has been extended to 20 September 2010, 24h00 Rome time.

Call for Proposals 2010: Benefit-sharing Fund - text adopted by Bureau
The text of the Call for Proposals 2010 has been revised on 6 August 2010. The text previously published did not contain all the modifications made by the Bureau of the Governing Body to the text of the Call. The modifications only refer to the expected size of projects under windows 1 and 2.
