This report reviews how the agricultural biodiversity related issues of intellectual property rights (IPRs), access and benefit sharing (ABS), farmers’ rights and genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are addressed in international agreements like the Convention on Biological Diversity CBD, the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety, the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food andAgriculture (ITPGRFA), and the Agreement on Trade-related aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS).
