Bureau of the Treaty
The Governing Body elects its Chairperson and Vice-Chairpersons, in conformity with its Rules of Procedure. They are collectively referred to as "the Bureau".
These are the members of the Bureau of the Governing Body:
- Mr Godfrey MWILA (Zambia), Chairman
- Ms Anne SOMMERVILLE (Australia)
- Mr Campbell DAVIDSON (Canada)
- Mr François PYTHOUD (Switzerland)
- Ms Hanaiya EL-ITRIBY (Egypt)
- Mr Modesto FERNANDEZ DIAZ-SILVEIRA (Cuba)
- Mr Sugiono MOELJOPAWIRO (Indonesia)

The Governing Body
It is the highest organ of the Treaty and is composed of representatives of all Contracting Parties.
